Bruce Lee in 3D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi2mFgS1S7g
Creating CGI character into 3D is amazing, I found a video of Bruce Lee fighting, I was watching the behind the scene and took them years to make it better, technology are chasing and I find it amazing to watch.

CGI

I've been a fan of F&F for 15 years, after the tragedy death of actor Paul Walker, The question in everyone mind is how are they going to continue finishing the films, CGI comes in, I think in the end of the film it was emtional, but I don't think anyone has ever seen the different between those two, CGI and real person. They use Walker's brother to finished the film and after watching twice, nothing is different but the facts that we all know his death in real life.

First Project creating a robot

In this first project we were told to create 3 robot, I came up with the idea of creating a simple to robot, I had to model the robots myself as my partner wasn't helping me or contacting me. This first project was a hustle because I had to keep up with the update, The most disappointing experience for this project was having my partner not doing the work when I asked him too, He did mostly the art work and sketching not much into modelling. I find it very frustrated to work with, In the end I've learnt so much in 3D which helped me improved through out the course. I think in the first project, it helps me think about what I can improve in the next assessment and I believe that it has helped me understand that taking criticism from people is always important even if the work were good, Once you take the cristism you are able to take it as a motivation, After learning from this experience I was able to work harder with the next two. So far this trimester has been a fun task, working with the team and taking note to helps me remember things. It takes alot of hard work to be good at it, But it all about learning and doing in your way of creating a models.

Brief02 Nick

Overall I'm very happy how this turn out, After researching and understanding what nick means and why we create this, is simply because the Nick has been around for a long time and it mostly for kids and teen, I remember as a kid watching Nick toons, things had changed over the years, nowadays its 3D animation but a little bit of 2D. We decided to add slime looks, because that How Nick was supposed to be known as.

 Render frame cloudy

 Bitfrost effects.

Test render, we had to make sure that we get the effects and lighting better, so even though it looked great but we're trying to make it ten times better, we add some lighting effects

I model the nickelodeon, it was very complex at first, but I had to use the plane to be able to trace the words, I get frustrated at times when the polygon doesn't match to the words. But overall I've learnt alot from creating a font.
 Test animations.

Real Flow animations, We tested the real flow, we were trying to achieve the liquid/water effects
Final Render: we've been working together on the animations and I got to say it was alot of fun to create, We were both happy with the results

Here are the planning and storyboard that we want to achieve on the second projects

Character Design

For the last project our job was to create a model for the client, I feel that we need something unqiue that no one has ever done before. So my classmate and I decided to choose this kind of person that represent something. We don't see alot of female/male get this kind of looks in the animations before. At first we think of a model walking down the hall. Have alot of flashing camera across. We took our role very seriously, depending on the skills and knowledge. My partner did animation whilst I did the modelling and texture, the most difficult thing to do is to be able to model a human body and makes it look like the drawing, but I've learnt that drawing doesn't always helps because its a different between 2D and 3D animations. I'm very proud how it turn out in the end, but I've learnt that even though things are hard at time but we would never give up on the things that we tried to succeed on. So far my classmate and I are very happy on what it was turn out today. I think we should very proud on the hard work we both in, I think I've learnt that if you help each other out with the knowledge and getting some helps then the results will be great in the end, without the helps. Things wouldn't be possible and I think overall it was the best experience to with the assignment.

5 sculpture models

These are the 5 different sculpture which is part of the brief, the model took me sometime to master the same way as any 3d artist would do. The most challenging thing to do was to make it exactly the same, overall I'm very happy on how it turn out to be. Even though things doesn't always have to be the same but if I put something that doesn't have to be unique, then modelling an object like these isn't a problem.

UV auto unwrapped

I've used the "auto" uv mapping which helps me unwrapped the texture, The most challenging thing to do was to make sure that the map looks equal, I had to play around with the "unfold and relax" tools. It was frustrating when you can't do the planning mapping or unfold the way you wanted. here is an example to how I would use it.

Modelling the head and adding some textures

Before I was able to import into photoshops I've use the new method called "Auto Uv unwrapping" which helps me unwrapped quickly rather than the old school ways. I've downloaded the plugin and and import onto photoshops then add texture onto it. Then went onto Maya and add the picture for the texture and I also included the bump maps

For this file, I've worked on the body, I've learnt from display mapping and plannar mapping. My main goal was to get the UV unwrapped.

Disney Frozen Animations on Maya

Here are the videos that I found a year ago and it interested me since I'm learning some stuff on Maya.

the first video are the clips from the behind the scene, where the director and producer come together in the meeting and seeing the process of the work.

the second clips we see the behind the scene on exactly how Maya works on Pixar Animations studios.

Animating a Locator on a Path in Maya

"If you want to animate the camera on a path coming down while looking at the spaceship and the hangar bay entry door, the first thing you need to do is create a locator object. This object will be animated along the path the same way the spaceship has been animated along its path"

Research on Character Design and Animation

TOY STORY ANIMATORS
Links

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su_3e9AU9SA

Looking at the Animators I noticed how they use the graph like we do in Maya, Over the Years Pixar company has used Maya in most films including the recent films "Frozen 2013) and Big Hero 6 2014. This  gives me an idea what they used in studio and the majority of time Animators always use this kind method and other editor.

In this links are the links that is important for educators who are learning Animating this is also a great example.

Week03 class3 Continuing to do Animate

Today I've learnt to Animate the rig, the model was the ball, the most important tool to use was the Graph Editor, I find it really confusing because of the random line swirling all over the places, The other method that really useful when animating was "dope Sheet" it really make sense when you are animating the rig. The most important thing that should remember is making sure that I can stretch out the ball up or down to "squash" To move the dope sheet bar (black) is to middle click and drag it to however you wanted to be. But making sure that the red line from the keyframe is located to the position you wish to change. Above the picture are the "Dope Sheet"

The yellow highlight indicate that you are moving the bar either left or right position.

Above are the pose to pose animation from start to finish. By using the graph editor, dope sheet and the keyframe.
